Making a Referral

GPs and Medical Practitioners

GPs and Medical Practitioners are able to refer clients for focused psychological strategies services under the Medicare Better Access Initiative. We recommend referrals to be made via an eligible Mental Health Care Plan.

The following item numbers are able to be utilised for making a referral via a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

Please send through MHCPs or EDTPs through to the clinic at EMDR Brisbane via the following options:

Medical Objects (using our clinic's Medicare Provider Number)

**Please note that medical objects is the preferred method for receiving referrals**

Mental Health Care Plan

Under a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), an individual is able to access 10 psychology sessions per calendar year.

Referrals can be made via your GP, medical practitioner or directly with our clinic. We also offer sessions for those without a Mental Health Care Plan.

Please send mental health care plans (MHCP) through to the clinic at MyHealth Brisbane Showgrounds via one of the following options:

Through your GP or Medical Practitioner through their medical centre
Directly via Fax (on (07) 3130 0615)
Simply bring along the MHCP to your first appointment

Self-Referrals

Clients are also able to book in with the clinic directly.

Whilst, we do recommend utilising a mental health care plan, we are, however, flexible and understand some people may choose to book directly instead.

Schedule of Fees

EMDR Brisbane is a private billing practice with fees charged at
$215 per 50-minute session.

Individuals with a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) are eligible for a rebate of $101.55 ($113.45 out of pocket). MHCPs are valid for up to 10 sessions per year. Clients with a valid Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDTP) may be eligible for up to 40 sessions per year.

Health Care Card holders (HCC) may be offered a reduced rate. Please speak with our reception if you would like more information. EMDR Brisbane is not currently able to provide bulk-billing psychology services.

WorkCover

EMDR Brisbane is also able to provide psychological intervention for clients who are currently in receipt of WorkCover. Our clinic has extensive experience in working with those affected by workplace injury and requiring support in returning to work.

NDIS

EMDR Brisbane is also an approved provider of psychological services provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). If your NDIS package has provisions for psychological intervention, we are happy to offer services for participants of the NDIS. Please speak with your support coordinator or plan manager if you would like to engage with a psychologist under your NDIS package.

Private Health

EMDR Brisbane is also able to provide psychological services to those with private health. Please speak with your insurer in order to identify if this is covered under your health insurance. We are more than happy to provide invoices for those who may wish to claim under their private health insurance.
